Kruger National Park Camps

Camp choice is a big consideration when booking your accommodation. Pick your region first (south/central/north), then choose your room style on camp accommodation. Each region, camp, and room style offers a unique experience.

Camps by region

South Kruger

Great for first-time visitors as it is a shorter drive away from major cities, and has arguably easier game viewing. There are more predators (and more visitors) in the South of the park, meaning your chances of spotting game are higher.

Main camps

Berg-en-Dal, Crocodile Bridge, Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop, Skukuza.

Bushveld camps

Biyamiti.

Satellite camps

Malelane.

Central Kruger

A brilliant mix of open savannah landscape and cheetah territory — perfect for viewing large herds of animals.

Main camps

Olifants, Orpen, Satara.

Bushveld camps

Talamati.

Satellite camps

Balule, Maroela, Tamboti.

North Kruger

Quieter roads, fewer predaotrs, wilder animals, and a slower rhythm. If you love scenic driving, birding, and fewer crowds, the north can be magic.

Main camps

Letaba, Mopani, Punda Maria, Shingwedzi.

Bushveld camps

Bateleur, Shimuwini, Sirheni.

Bush lodges

Boulders Bush Lodge, Roodewal Bush Lodge.

Next planning step

  1. Use itinerary planning to choose your camp sequence by trip length.
  2. Use camp accommodation to select the right room category in each camp.
  3. Double-check timing against gate times.
