Camps

Addo may be one of South Africa’s flagship parks, but its camps are surprisingly small - which explains why they fill up fast, even in low season. Most offer just a handful of units, giving each one a more intimate feel.

Main Rest Camp is the largest, offering everything from chalets and rondavels to forest cabins, safari tents, and campsites. It also has a restaurant, shop, and game viewing hide.

Matyholweni and Nyathi Camps are quieter and more upmarket. Matyholweni, near the southern gate, has a handful of simple cottages, while Nyathi offers 11 spacious units in a private section of the park.

Spekboom and Narina Bush Camps are rustic and remote. Spekboom has 5 tents hidden in thick thicket, and Narina offers 4 dome tents in the Zuurberg Mountains - both are off-grid and perfect for nature lovers.

Kabouga Cottage stands alone in the Kabouga section near Kirkwood - ideal for families or small groups looking for a private stay.

More information about the camps and the booking process is available on the offical SANParks website.
