Pilanesberg might not be part of the SANParks family, but it’s one of the most popular Big Five reserves in the country - easy to reach from Joburg and packed with great places to stay. The park offers a mix of public camps, full-service lodges, and exclusive private options to suit all kinds of travellers.

Manyane and Bakgatla are the main public camps, offering chalets, safari tents, and campsites, with family-friendly facilities.

Kwa Maritane and Bakubung are large, hotel-style lodges with all the comforts - restaurants, pools, spas, and guided drives.

Tshukudu Lodge is a small, luxury retreat set on a koppie, known for its views and personal service.

Ivory Tree, Shepherd’s Tree, and Tambuti Lodge are upmarket private lodges offering a more exclusive bush experience, with fewer guests and tailored activities.
